Good evening! I apologize for the late blog post (I typically have them done on Sunday nights/Monday mornings).
Here is a look at our busy week:
Reading: In reading, we are focusing on how people respond to natural disasters (which has been fitting with the recent events in our State and around the world). As we read, we will be focusing on rereading and compare and contrast. Rereading is an excellent comprehension strategy when reading Expository Texts because often non-fictional topics can be difficult to fully understand on the first read.
Spelling: Long E (Unit 1 Week 3)
Math: In math, we have just finished up our chapter one test. On Wednesday, we will be switching our focus to multiplication in chapter 2. The first lesson will be focused on Multiplicative Comparisons (8 time as many as 6 is 48). Then, on Friday we will be looking at comparison problems involving algebraic thinking.
Social Studies: In social studies, we will be wrapping up our focus on latitude and longitude and moving on to basic map reading skills for the remainder of the week.
Montana History: In Montana History, we will be looking at the plants, animals, and landscapes in the three regions of Montana. We will end the week by looking at the temperatures we can experience in Montana.
Important this week:
September 21 from 3:00 - 4:00: Mission Ridge Volunteering with Mr. Pertuit.
Saturday, September 23 at 9:00 am at Pioneer Park
The school with the most runners will win $250. Mr. Pertuit would LOVE to spend this money on more PE/recess equipment!!
At 10:00 Dana Bowman parachutes into Daylis Stadium. All 3rd-5th Graders come help hold up the flag. Be at the south end of Daylis Stadium at 9:45 to help.
