Good evening! I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving.
Report cards go home Friday, December 1st!
Our week:
In reading, we are entering Unit 2 Week 4. Our focus is what helps animals survive. The comprehension strategies and skills we will be working on are summarizing and main idea and details. We will use these two methods to aid our comprehension as we read expository texts this week. We will be reading Animal Adaptations, Spiders, and Extreme Animals.
Math: In math, we are continuing to focus on factors and multiples. We will review factors, multiples, common multiples, and number patterns on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we will take our chapter 5 test. On Friday, we will begin our chapter on division. This is a difficult topic. Please be sure to continue to practice multiplication facts. This will be a great help as we move to division.
Montana History: In social studies, we will be finishing up the state symbols with the state dinosaur. We will then begin to review all of the state symbols. We will have a state symbols quiz next week.
Social Studies: In social studies this week, we will be visiting Boston, Massachusetts, and the Erie Canal.
Language: In language, we will be studying compound predicates and begin our inquiry project on sharks. This will lead us to our expository writing piece.
Next Week:
December 7: Barnes and Noble Night 4:00-8:00
TOYS for TOTS collection starts NOW and runs through December 8!
