Good morning!
We have a short week packed with learning at Arrowhead!
Reading: In reading, we are finishing up Unit 2 Week 3. Our focus is how are all living things connected? Today we will read about Energy in the Ecosystem. We learned about the food chain and how everything in an ecosystem is connected (including the SUN!).
We are also reading about Thanksgiving and Pumpkin Pie to learn about the origins of these traditions. The students are also excited to explore some common myths associated with Thanksgiving. They will be excited to share these with you tomorrow.
Math: In math last week we began chapter 5: factors and multiples. Today we will be working on understanding the difference between factors and multiples. Factors are the two numbers used to get a product. (2X3=6, 2 and 3 are factors of 6). Multiples are similar to skip counting. (The first five multiples of 6 are: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30...). We will finish up the week by exploring prime and composite numbers.
Montana History: In social studies, we are finishing up the state gemstone of Montana, the agate.
Important this week:
No school, Wednesday, November 22nd to Friday, November 24th. (School will resume Monday, November 27th).
December Dates:
December 1: Report cards sent home.
December 7: Barnes and Noble Night 4:00-8:00
TOYS for TOTS collection starts NOW and runs through December 8!
December 15: K-3 Christmas Program for Parents at 8:45 to 9:15.
