Welcome to a four day week! We do not have school on Friday, February 8 and Monday, February 11 for winter break.
Tomorrow there will be a Bingo Family Fun Night at 406 from 6:00 to 8:00.
Reading: In reading, we are using the question "why do people run for public office?" to guide our learning. We are focusing on visualizing and the narrator's point of view this week in whole group and small group reading.
Reading Boost: We will be wrapping up our study on Text Structure, The main four we have been focusing on are: chronological, cause and effect, compare and contrast, and problem and solution
Math: In math, we are in chapter 6 on equivalent fractions. We just finished up the mid-chapter checkpoint today. Tomorrow, we will be in 6.6: Comparing fractions using benchmarks. Wednesday, we will be working on 6.7: Comparing Fractions. And finally, on Thursday, we will be exploring 6.8: Comparing and Ordering Fractions. Next week we will wrap things up with a review and take the test on Wednesday or Friday depending on how the review goes.
Social Studies: In social studies, we took a visit to the Erie Canal today. We watched a video on how a lock works to lower or raise the ships down the canal. We wrapped up by taking our notes and review the state capitals we have covered so far in this region.
Montana History: In Montana History, we took a look at Montana's state fossil: the Maiasaura.
