Hello All!
(Please see the previous post for Heritage Project Information).
I will be out of the classroom Thursday afternoon and Friday all day for the State Track meet in Butte. Ms. Sommerville will be in for me both of these days.
We have a packed week of learning here at Arrowhead! Let's take a look:
Reading: In reading, we are in the forth week of Unit 6. We are examining how the role of money has changed over time. Today we read The History of Money and learned about how items use to be bartered, or traded for before the first currency came about. This currency was shells!
Spelling: Unit 6 Week 4: Suffixes
Math: In math, we are continuing with decimals. Today we took our knowledge of tenths and hundredths and looked at their relationship. We saw how we could easily convert tenths to hundredths and vice versa. We will look at how decimals relate to money tomorrow and continue this until the end of the week. On Monday, we will have a review day for half of our math time and then take our decimals assessment. I am confident in our knowledge of decimals! We are rockstars!
Social Studies: In social studies, we are bound and determined to get through the United States! We are going to use this week to get through the South West. We will not be testing on this section or on the states and capitols of the region. The students have made the choice to either continue with slides or switch things up to pencil and paper. Westward we go!
Montana History: In Montana History, we are taking notes on Lewis and Clark to prepare us for out visit to Pompey's Pillar next Thursday. Please remember to fill out your permission slip and send $5 for the bus! Thanks!
Language: We are continuing to finalize our heritage project. Some pieces may need to be completed at home.
May:
May 25 - 5th Grade General Music Blacklight Show at 1:00 in the Gym for students and parents.
May 26 - FINAL day of PEAK
May 29 - Memorial Day - No School
June
