Good evening!
Please look for a flyer tomorrow in the envelopes!
I know that the original date for the Heritage Museum was scheduled for this Wednesday, but that is going to be too soon! We are not ready quiet yet. Also, Mr. Pertuit scheduled a movie on Mental Health for the fourth grade to watch on Wednesday when I was planning to do the museum - which only gives us more time to finalize our projects!
Therefore, I am switching our museum day to NEXT Wednesday, May 31st from 2:00 - 3:00. This will be a time for parents to come in and look at the projects and for the students to share their learning. The museum will be followed by a "taste of the cultures" we studied. Each student will bring in food that represents their heritage.
From the packet:
"The last task for this project is to prepare a food item that can be shared with the class during the Heritage Museum. Students have 2 options for food items to choose. 1.) Students can make a dish from a favorite family recipe. 2.) Students can make a dish they found in their research. If there are nuts, dairy, or gluten in any dish, please make sure to let me know so I can appropriately label the item for those museum guests that might have a food allergy. "
Please remember, each student does not need a HUGE portion. Just a little sampling for everyone to try a bite or two if they wish. :)
If we need to work out refrigeration of particular food items the day of, please let me know!
Thank you!
Marissa
