I decided to enroll our class in Big Sky Fit Kids this year. This is a program that helps to motivate children to stay active and to eat healthy! Our class is a very active bunch, from PEAK to sports and activities outside of school (basketball, skating, soccer, karate, sledding, etc.). I thought this would be a good opportunity to maximize the activity we already complete daily while incorporating a healthy diet.
A parent letter from Big Sky Fit Kids is located in the Parent Resources tab and will give you a little more information.
Today in the Tuesday Envelops a tracking sheet for Big Sky Fit Kids was sent home. It includes space to track for the months of February and March. Simply, log your daily fruits and vegetables with the time spend being active. (PE and recess do not count towards these totals and I have talked about this in class).
Towards the end of the month, I will send out a reminder to return your recording sheets to school. This will allow me time to enter in our information online to see how we are stacking up with other schools and classes in the state.
This, of course, is optional. However, I strongly encourage you to support you child through the challenge!
Thank you for your consideration. I know the students are very excited about the program.
Please contact me if you have any further questions.
